Prohibition Records Artists to tour California supporting album release

Bourbon Street entertainer David Hull is recording his next solo album on Prohibition Records to commemorate the 20th anniversary of his first solo CD recorded at 11 years old. "Learning Curve Blues" was originally sold at Dixieland festivals across the U.S. and Canada, where Hull spent his childhood performing.

Now age 31, Hull's Prohibition Records debut will feature Jazz & Americana artists from New Orleans and California, and is scheduled for release on August 29th, 2017. Prohibition Records is distributing the new release to Cannabis dispensaries in California, New Orleans record stores and online.

The inaugural album is being funded with the help of our generous Sustaining Members. For donations of $12 or more, we'll send you a copy of "Learning Curve Blues", originally released when David was 12 years old.

As a thank you for your generous donations of $25 or more we'll send you both the 1997 and the 2017 releases.

 Past Projects:

 Fiesta Americana Music Festival

On December 26th 2016, a group of 21 organizers produced the first annual Fiesta Americana Food & Music Festival. Local musicians raised money for Roosevelt School of the Arts at the historic Art-Deco Tower Theatre in Fresno, California.

Prohibition Records is planning events throughout 2017 in New Orleans and around California. The label's launch party is planned for the Spring, and will be an open house with performances by local entertainers. Become a Sustaining Member, or apply free for Artist Membership to receive details on the event.

Prohibition Records produces live entertainment for private events. Events are professionally staged by its Artist Members, technical staff members, and venue partners. If you are hosting an event and would like to hire an artist in our network contact +1 (504) 881-3345.

Prohibition Records' Research Project:

In the Fall of 2016, Prohibition Records' co-founders David Hull & Laurel Manfredi set out on a 6000+ mile tour, meeting dozens of artists and business professionals between New Orleans, San Francisco and Minneapolis.

U.S. Road Trip Map

As the road trip unfolded, the co-founders noted stark differences of opinions in America's increasingly diverse population. Prohibition Records has evolved into a network of artists, business professionals and sponsors who seek to address these differences through live performances and recorded music.

Building a Network

Our mission is to create employment opportunities for local and touring artists, while providing the public with opportunities for positive social interaction in their communities. Our organization contributes financial and human resources to its members' projects, acting as a support network for our music community. If you're working on a project and you'd like to partner with Prohibition Records', apply for Artist Membership. There is no cost to apply.

One of our early projects, "If I Had A Tall Ship", was recorded on a sailboat on New Orleans' Lake Pontchartrain with very limited resources. No project is too big or too small!
